The extended trunk is a water storage device for survival in a warm dry climate. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003eThese are the Western and Central Desert Kurrajong and therefore have a wider more bird-like shape than the boat shaped pod of the Eastern\/Queensland kurrajong.
